I made an interesting observation with the Beaverton radar vans last night.
If you have ever seen the vans at night, you know that the speed sign on the back of the van is like the sun at noon day. When that thing lights up it gives everyone within a quarter of a mile ample warning. I ran across the vans last night and made a very interesting observation. Beaverton van not in compliance
For anyone who receives a ticket from Beaverton taken on 6/16/10 at 9800 SW Beaverton-Hillsdale Hwy.
You should know that the van was not in compliance with Oregon Statutes. They require that the signage be placed at a minimum of 100 yards.
Tonight the signage was placed at only 90 yards. If anyone needs picture evidence to present if they go to court, here you go.
Hillsboro says “No” to red light camera
The City of Hillsboro has decided to break their contract with Redflex and not install a red light camera. They were afraid of the “image” it would give Hillsboro. Read the story on Oregonlive. How about that, their image is worth more than the cash they would produce from the camera.

Beaverton non-compliance on Hall Blvd
We found some pictures and did some investigating about the Beaverton van on SW Hall Blvd North of Canyon Rd.
The notification appears to have been short of the required 100 yards. If you were issued a ticket on Sep 8th at this location, they should be thrown out.

Had a nice talk with some Beaverton Police Officers tonight while doing our part to boost the economy (by not getting tickets, you the money to shop with next Friday). You know, we do what we can.
